Why did the title change?

The book had not been updated in 13 years and we thought it would be good to update the title as well, welcome to You Want To Be An Interpreter?, 5th Edition.

Is this text for both Deaf and hearing individuals who want to become interpreters?

It was the author’s desire to create a text that not only had a chapter written by a group of Deaf interpreters, but had the topic of Deaf interpreting addressed throughout the text. Yes, it was written for both Deaf and hearing people.

Will there be an electronic version?

At this time, it is under discussion, there are more security issues that need to be addressed to release an electronic edition. Right now, we are only offering the text in print, but keep your eyes open.

Will the note taking sections (e.g., chapter reviews, writing prompts) be available electronically?

Yes! H & H Publishing will make all the chapter reviews and end of chapter writing prompts at the (conclusion of each chapter) available to all instructors to distribute to their students. Some of the documents will be available in Word format while the others will be in PDF format.

Do you have videos to help me practice the interpreting skills I’m learning from this book?

Not at this time. However, we are constantly working on resources and supplemental information that will help students, interns, and teachers use the text. Visit our website for updates:  https://hhpublishingonline.com/
